01Who We Are

Preparation Street is an ed-tech platform that provides curated learning paths (DSA, Algorithms, System Design and AI Engineering), a free structured problem sheet, and 1:1 mentorship sessions for students and working engineers preparing for tech careers.

This policy explains what information we collect when you use preparationstreet.com, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

02Information We Collect

• Account information - when you sign in with Google or GitHub we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We never see or store your password.
• Purchase information - when you buy a plan or book a mentorship session we store your order details (plan, amount, date and payment reference). Card, UPI and banking details are handled entirely by our payment partner Razorpay and never touch our servers.
• Learning activity - your progress through problems, patterns and roadmap topics, so you can pick up where you left off on any device.
• Session details - for mentorship bookings, the topic you choose and any material you voluntarily share (resume, GitHub profile) so your mentor can prepare.
• Technical data - basic analytics such as pages visited and device type, used only to improve the product.

03How We Use Your Information

• To create and secure your account, and keep you signed in.
• To unlock the content and mentorship sessions you have purchased.
• To save and sync your learning progress.
• To schedule, prepare for and deliver 1:1 mentorship sessions.
• To send essential service emails such as payment confirmations and session bookings.
• To understand how the platform is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.

04Payments

All payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Your card, UPI or net-banking credentials are entered directly on Razorpay's secure interface - Preparation Street only receives a confirmation of payment and a payment reference used to activate your access.

05Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser storage strictly for keeping you signed in, remembering your theme preference, and storing your learning progress. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

06Sharing With Third Parties

We share data only with the service providers required to run the platform - authentication (Google, GitHub), payments (Razorpay) and hosting/analytics infrastructure. Each provider receives only the minimum data needed to do its job and is bound by its own privacy commitments.

07Data Security & Retention

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS and access tokens are stored securely. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Purchase records are retained as required for accounting and tax law.

08Your Rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data entirely. Email us at preparationstreet@gmail.com from your registered email address and we will action it within 30 days.

09Children

Preparation Street is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
